My Voice Experience
I initially stumbled into radio when a station manager heard my voice and put me on the air the very next week! From there I moved on to doing voice overs. I have done a variety of vo, including industrials such as corporate and medical narration. Since I am a concert pianist, my ear has helped me to audibly detect fine nuances in speech and vocal delivery as well. I have been told I am very easy to direct and can be very flexible. Most recently I recorded a TV and internet voice over for Time Warner Cable, a test spot for Icy Hot, and a narration for Bronx Community College.
My Training
After many years as a radio host, voice overs were a natural continuation. I took a number of classes and studied privately as well, including coaching with Paul Liberti. I also took commercial classes at the School for Film and Television. I am well-versed in medical terminology. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barnard College, and a Master's degree in music from the University of Louisville, where I first began in radio. I have been a musician my entire life, and have studied a number of foreign languages. I have always been complimented on my fine ear, both for music and for language.
My Studio Equipment
I have a home studio capable of recording custom audition MP3s to send via e-mail.
Additional Skills
I have been told I am very easy to direct and to work with. Cold copy is not a problem for me! I was a medical transcriptionist for many years and got the sound of the medical vocabulary solidly in my ear. I also have near-native fluency in French as I was raised in a French school. I have always had an affinity for language, and as a result I can handle any kind of tongue-twisting technical terminology with ease. I have been complimented on my ability to work quickly and efficiently.
