I take classes From On-the-Mic training and am trying to take more in the future. My last class was in 2015 in their foundations class where I was told to work a bit more on my acting. With that, I'm more focused on training for commercial or narration work.
I have personal experience from my first podcast I called 'Jonny on the Spot'. I used my own equipment and recorded guests. Using the same equipment, I auditioned for real estate readings for the real estate channel (March 2009)
In my post Grade 12 drama years, I have attended numerous workshops, which include:
-Tooned In Commercial workshop (2004)
I first practiced radio reading, recorded at Bear Studios
-Mekena Cove with Micheal Dobson (2007)
I was educated a lot about the industry and had a great time working with Micheal practicing character roles
-Real Estate Channel, working with Matt Grant (2009)
I obtained a lot of samples and practice with Matt while auditioning for commercial reads for the channel featured on their cable service.
-Voice Magic with Sonja Bakker (2009)
Sonja really worked on bringing out my inner energy, which is needed for readings of all kinds. With her and Mitch Lazer I recorded my current demo reel.
-On the Mic Training's Foundations Course with Nicole Oliver.
In 2007 I graduated from BCIT in their Digital Animation program directed at using Maya and XSI for roles in TV and Game production.
I have equipment such as Protools with an Mbox system and a Apex mic. I record on my desktop PC for mixing but also have a laptop for mobility.
I've always pursued the entertainment business in many ways. I'm an illustrator with a love for comics and video games, while also a trained 3D animator. Understanding voice over and the animation business is a great interest of mine, and so I can work on a project on many levels.
