BA, MS, and PHD in experimental psychology, specializing in speech perception. Have produced and recorded numerous sets of speech stimuli for use in research, and have also produced educational voice overs for educational CDs, both for classroom use and as accompaniment for textbooks.
Recordings are made in a IAC double-walled soundbooth. typical signal chain includes a Shure SM7B microphone, VTB1 preamp, Mackie 1202 mixer, Digidesign MBox with protools and other software for post-production work. My research in speech perception has involved the use of both analog and digital signal processing techniques over a twenty year period. I am well versed in the process of creating extremely clean audio recordings, and am familiar with compression and equalization procedures as well.
Having spent 20 years conducting laboratory studies of speech perception, I have considerable experience in voicing and recording highly intelligible speech, as well as experience in post production using a wide variety of digital signal processing procedures.
