My Voice Experience
Voiceover work is a source of pure joy for me. Each person has his or her own unique gifts of creativity, and one of mine is an ability to use the nuances of verbal communication to convey an appropriate tone and quality to meet a client's needs.
I have been doing voiceover work for more than 20 years in a variety of forms: radio, television and cable commercials; narration for documentaries, corporate presentations, and industrial and training films; and flash presentations for corporate websites. I especially enjoy the challenge of making technical and/or medical terminology sound real and conversational.
One particular area that I have specialized in is creating messages for corporate phone systems, including phone prompts for use in IVR, ACD and auto attendant applications, as well as personal voice mail greetings. I believe these messages convey a critically important first impression of a company or organization and should feel as natural and welcoming as possible in order to connect personally with each individual caller. I also consider them to be an integral part of the company's brand and feel strongly that they should be consistent with the other ways in which it presents itself to the world. You can get a better feel for this by visiting www.frontendmessages.com.
My Training
I have a Master's degree in Broadcasting and have participated in a wide variety of classes and workout sessions over the years with multiple teachers, both in Southern California and in Oregon.
My Studio Equipment
In my home studio, I use a CAD Equitek E-200 microphone, a Mackie 1202-VLZ 12 channel mic/line mixer, and Sony Sound Forge software. In addition, I have longstanding relationships with nearby recording studios that have ISDN and phone patch capabilities.
Additional Skills
I can create some of the most natural-sounding, credibility-building voiceovers you'll hear. If you need a DJ, I strongly recommend that you move on to the next guy.
