warm, smart, folksy, erudite, real, authority,
In terms of emotive affect, my voice has a wide range. Currently, I write and record theater reviews for the Broadway Channel, airing in Manhattan hotels, and on Time Warner, RCN and Cablevision. I find that my voice can be buoyant in talking about an exciting new musical, sultry in describing a romantic drama, or dry when discussing a revival of a Beckett play. My strength as a voice-over begins with understanding what I'm talking about and communicating it in the style of the message.
Having developed my interest in doing voice-over work through my interviews with playwrights on PBS (In The Life) and by interviewing celebrities for radio stations such as WOR and womensradio.com, my voice-overs tend to be conversational in tone. In that respect, they reflect my personality.

My Voice Experience
Currently, my voice-over commentary accompanies b-roll on the Broadway Channel, airing in Manhattan’s premier hotels and on Time Warner, RCN and Cablevision. As President Emerita of the Drama Desk, I also write and talk about theater in many public forums.
Recently I recorded the audio book, "Think Like An Entrepreneur: Transforming Your Career and Taking Charge of Your Life", and I've narrated industrials for Everguard and The Pennsylvania Spine and Headache Center.
Marla Kirban, with whom I have studied, suggested I post my v/o demo to Voice 123. I'd love your feedback. Thank you in advance.

My Studio Equipment
I record and edit at home using TwistedWave on a MAC in a well padded space.
As a successful salesperson, in advertising and in real estate, I have a sense of selling something on a one-on-one basis. This translates well in doing a commercial or an industrial as I instinctively recognize a hard sell from natural expression.
In addition, my experience as a theater critic, reporting for Reuters Television, The Financial Times, The New York Daily News and many other publications, websites and broadcast media, allows me to learn about acting from some of the greatest actors on the stage today. It's a great way to study the craft and pick up some pointers.
