I have extensive experience in theatre and public speaking (including teaching it as a graduate student years ago). Afer decades as Director of Education for a musical organization, I turned to professional voice acting and educational role-playing in training settings.
In the pre-Internet days, I read in-house fashion descriptions for Dayton's department store, as well as some narration and public service announcements for radio. Also did some radio drama.
B.A. in Communication studies from Oberlin College, then M.A. (and more) in Speech-Comunication from the University of Minnesota.
Master Shakespeare Class with John Orlock, a Clowning Workshop with Jon Ferguson, and a seminar on the Voice-Over business with Larry Russo. On-camera class with JR Casting, and Advanced Acting Workshop with Jane Brody.
I own an H2 Zoom that I use for audition readings and practice. For productions, I am affiliated with a professional recording studio.
During the twenty years I worked for a prominent St. Paul musical organization, I led tours in the museum of musical instruments, performed Javanese gamelan, trained docents, organized school presentations, wrote grant requests, and edited publications. I am also a senior limericist for the Omnificent English Dictionary in Limerick Form. I love words, and I am aware that hearing them spoken can be much more powerful than reading them.
