Although I am currently working in the healthcare industry, my passion belongs to broadcasting! Back in 1980 I moved from Virginia to Southern California. I began my start in broadcasting on Christian Radio with a 15 min taped program and within 3 years I was broadcasting on KKLA 99.5 in Los Angeles. The program expanded to 30 mins soon after. In June 1991, I was given the offer of a lifetime; I was offered a live, 2 hour broadcast, Monday - Friday, which eventually was expanded to Saturday. For over 3 years the Nightlight Radio Program aired on KKLA. The format changed and eventually the program ended. I have also recently recorded commercials for the clinic that I work at and they aired on KSFH 95.9 FM, the Fish, for over three months. I am more than willing to provide clips of the commercial that I have done and also any clips of the former live broadcast. Just contact me and let me know.
I am self-taught in this field. I took it upon myself while in between live programs to spend time in the studios of KKLA, actually editing my tapes programs. I learned back in 1980 to record and edit my own programs for radio.
I have used many means of recording experience from the "reel to reel" days until now where I use Sony Vegas software and Cool Edit Pro as my primary means of recording audio and video editing.
I also edit my own 1/2 hour and 1 hour TV program, "What Saith The Scripture?", which airs in both Northern and Southern California markets on public access TV.
