I used to work in the film industry in NYC, as a producer, writer, video editor. On many occasions I had to use my own voice as the voice over if I happened to be short on budget. Some of our clients kept my voice over and used it in the final product. I never thought about being a voice over artist, but I am forever being told what a wonderful voice I have and I know I can read fluently, speak clearly, delivering both feeling and atmosphere. So now I want to try to break into the voice over business, where I think I could be successful.
I would also like to mention that while working for the film company, I had the privilege of giving Scottish dialect coaching to Kate Burton, the daughter of late actor Richard Burton. She was performing in a Broadway show that required her to speak with a Scottish accent and I coached her.
At present you can hear my voice in a scary narrative for a Halloween Haunted Forest experience.
As previously mentioned I worked for Hurrah Productions Inc. and Metro 2000 film and video productions in NYC from 1986 to 1993 and was involved in numerous voice over recordings as the producer, writer and editor. I saw first hand how voice over artists perform and how studios would record, edit and finalize the voice over sessions. I am very familiar with the art of voice over recording.
I can record through my computer using "Audacity" and e-mail it to the client.
