Derek won the 2007 Voicey Lifetime Achievement Award. Recent work includes: hosting and narrating in London: "Leslie Howard - A Quite Remarkable Life" and "The Mystery of Flight 777", when VIP Leslie Howard took my seat on the plane, which was shot down by the Germans. Narrator Charles Lindbergh's Life Story, Seal Island (like March of the Penguins), Adventures Abroad 26-week series for The Outdoor Channel, Dead Patients Don't Lie (cure for heart disease), Wine and Dine, spokesman for Best Friends animal sanctuary. He hosted ABC's prime time pilot "Wallet Roulette". He hosts and narrates "Magical Egypt" an 8-part series for Discovery, "Betrayal of the American Investor" for the History Channel and narrated "Millionaire TV", a spin-off from Millionaire Magazine. Of Anglo-American parents, he was brought up in Baltimore, New York and London; educated in England, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. Served as an officer in the R.A.F., was an ad agency AE and a company director. Voice work started in 1961 with BBC TV and later with RTV and RBC radio in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), as the nation's head TV news anchor and host of the top-rated talk show Frankly Partridge. News anchor for 10 years at FNN, the Financial News Network, now CNBC. For ABC's WKAT in Miami he hosted two, 2-hour radio talk shows and inbetween, anchored 6.0 pm news hour. News anchor for London's Sky TV.
