Voice Description

I have an extremely versatile voice and have done many impressions (celebrity, stereotypical, character, etc.).
My natural speaking voice is a smooth, mellow baritone which I've used in radio as a DJ and voice-over narrator.
I've been told all my adult life I have a "natural" voice for radio. I can do slow or fast, bantering or serious, excited or reassuring, seductive or irritating, as the situation demands. I can imitate many foreign accents and quite a few celebrities. I pick up "new" voices and inflections all the time in my daily travels. You name it, I can do it, and do it quickly!

My Voice Experience

Host and deejay on the award-winning "American Roots" show on KEGR-FM, Concord CA., from 1993-1997. I did many voice-over advertisements and public service announcements during this time, usually 5-10 per week.
I took calls and requests from listeners and also hosted weekly on-air artist interviews and features.

I was the narrator for Landmark Systems' 2001-2002 CBT training course on their TMON product. These presentations were done for CD, PC audio, and internet streaming formats.

I have narrated radio spots and promotions for my own retail business on local stations since 2003.

Public speaking engagements, training and educational seminars, keynote speaker at conventions and PA announcer at sporting events, 2000- present.

My Studio Equipment

TASCAM 4 track analog recorder (3-3/4 IPS cassette), 4 channel mixing board, two-track master tape deck, PC
interface, CD burner, various mics and standard audio
equipment. Not a full studio, but sufficient for demo work.

Additional Skills

I meet dozens of new people every day and listen to all of them. I have been sharpening and honing my voice skills, just for fun, most of my life. I have a great ear for dialect and dialogue, and can fool anybody over the phone. My sons are a wonderful audience and I practice on them daily, and get essential feedback from them. As a musician and singer, I've been trained to listen to voices and instruments for the past three decades, and to note minor and subtle differences. I take care of my voice and can sing or speak for hours without growing weak or hoarse.
