I've been doing voices since I was five years old. At that time it was my favorite cartoon characters. Later, I entertained friends with my impersonations of movie and political figures. As an adult, I've always made a living using my voice. I was either singing in a rock band, working as a radio DJ and later radio news reporter, or delivering the news as a TV News anchor. I've recorded hundreds of commercials during my radio days. As a TV personality, I've emcee'd dozens of dinners, delivered speeches, and hosted The Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon along with Casey Kasem for 14 years. My career has taken me around the world where I listened to thousands of voices and gained a wealth of knowledge about voices, sounds and people.
I am always looking to improve my craft. In addition to my years of voice experience, I've spent the last year enrolled in several voice over courses of study at Kalmenson & Kalmenson in Burbank, CA. I also stay busy as a musician, playing guitar, keyboards, drums, harmonica and have my own studio.
I have used several different cardioid condenser mics over the years. I find myself going back to my favorite, which is the Rode large diaphragm NT1-A. It has a wonderful frequency range to it and allows me to do a wide range of work. I most often use ProTools on my iMac for voice over work, while playing the EQ to fit the project. In some of my voice work, I've used my old Roland VS 2480 digital studio workstation which I bought for my music, but I've discovered it often sounds warmer than computer digital systems. I recently started using a Kaotica Eyeball for sound control. I love it.
I'm a very warm, easy going guy who is fun to be around. I get along well with everyone and bring a wealth of skills and wide ranging knowledge to every project. I take direction well and was instilled with a hard work ethic.
