Voice Description

I have a voice that can do a few things - it can be deep, baritone deep, or it can be tenor. I'm good with accents, although I tend to match them to whatever the lines are, rather than necessarily what is in the script. For example, my English teacher had me read some lines from a movie where the speaker was a hillbilly fellow named Bob Ewell - apparently I nailed it, since most of the class cracked up, including the teacher. Of course, he was actually a hillbilly to begin with, so all was well.

I'm a native English-speaker, born in New Jersey and raised in West Virginia, but I often get asked if I'm Irish or whether I know I have an English accent...I'm always pleasantly befuddled by such things. My mother once asked me to stop speaking in an accent I hadn't realized I'd adopted, saying it made people wonder if I was hiding a chainsaw and a fridge full of corpses in my house...

And no, I'm not, although I'd probably answer you in my best Romanian-knockoff accent for no good reason.

My Voice Experience

Well, unfortunately for me, I have no experience. At all...except in Theater and English class. I really would like to do voiceovers for video games...or would that be voice-overs? I've never been sure, but I'm fairly certain I'd be good at it. Just try me; show me the lines, and I'll do my best.

My Training

I...have no formal training. Crap. Of course, it's just me and my voice out there, right? I might not have a degree or have ever gone to some fancy seminar (honestly, why not just call it a class?) or workshop, which probably makes me sound a bit dubious, but I don't really think I need to worry too much about it.
