For six years, I worked part-time as an announcer/disc jockey for AM and FM radio stations in California (e.g., KCIN, KCKC, KHSJ), others.
My fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, gained while a Peace Corps Volunteer, coupled to my travels throughout Latin America, Europe, and the U.S., along with a gift for hearing small variations in intonation, and pronounciation, make me an excellent candidate for commercial work.
Master's Degree, Adult Education, University of Tennessee.
Bachelor's Degree, Social Studies, San Diego State University.
My home studio consists of the VRS recording system. I also have access to a soundproofed recording booth equipped with an EV RE20 microphone, and editing equipment.
I have a varied work background which, I believe, gives me a 'leg up' on identifying with a wide variety of characters, vocabularies, and situations. For example, I have worked as an onion picker, alfalfa bailing machine operator, apricot packer, tractor driver, walking stuffed animal, house painter, soup kitchen worker, Peace Corps Volunteer, management consultant, radio announcer, touring musician, language instructor, and janitor.
I have both Bachelor and Master's degrees (History and Education), and am fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
