My voice over experience includes my training with Creative Voice Development Group and cutting my demo with them in studio.
I received my voice over training from Creative Voice Development Group, LLC, (a.k.a. Voice Coaches). I cut my demo with them at their studio in Schenectedy, NY in May, 2007.
I've been involved in music performance since I was a small child, taking flute lessons for over 10 years, and playing flute in performance groups for over 12 years. I also took piano lessons for 4 years, as well as voice (singing) lessons as an adult. I also have trained in ballet, gymnastics and Irish step dancing.
I received my associates degree from Suffolk County Community College on Long Island. While I did not graduate as a music major, I started college with the intention of doing so, and therefore I took many music classes and played the flute in both band and orchestra for two years.
I feel that my extensive music training definitely helps my voice over work, allowing me to keep a nice, steady rhythm as I read, and showing my musicality with varying pitch tones and overall fluidity.
I have worked in the field of customer service for over 15 years and I have a very compassionate, understanding, knowledgeable, honest, and professional manner when dealing with customers. This comes across in my voice when dealing with customers in person and over the phone. I feel that this has prepared me for voice over work in several areas, including training presentations, voicemail and telephone services, public service announcements, narratives and documentary pieces.
Consequently, I also used to hear comments from men all the time telling me that I have a very sexy voice, and could be a phone sex operator. While this was never a profession that interested me, I was always somewhat flattered by the comments, and now realize that my sexy, sultry voice can definitely be utilized for certain voice over commercials or narratives. I really enjoyed reading some of these styles for my demo.
