Voice Description
My voice has a wide range of abilities. My default characterization is warm, deep, and fun. It works great for AC radio. I'm also able to "amp" it up for high energy spots (I have frequently cut the same spot twice: one for AC and one for CHR/ROCK).
While I haven't mastered any celebrity voices, I have created several cartoon voices that are pretty amusing:
-a country bumpkin I call "Mule McCoy"
-a scary voice I call "Satan"
-an elderly gentleman I call "Mr. Nutts"
-an elderly British lady I call "Mrs. Weatherspoon"
-a psuedo-Russian voice I call "Rocketman"
I've used all of these voices in local adds and on-air comic bits. Rocketman is probably my favorite.

My Voice Experience
I've worked in radio since I was 17, and my voice has evolved from a cross between Peter Brady and Butthead into something smooth, assuring, and sometimes sarcastic. Now at 26. I find myself teaching high school English full-time and voice-tracking a midday shift at the local AC radio station, 95.7 The Mix. In addition to being an on-air talent, I've done my fair share of radio voiceovers and production work. After creating hundreds of local radio ads and station promos, I thought it might be nice to branch out.
My Training
I learned how to do voice overs the old-fashioned way, trial by fire. I was creating station promos in high school using a reel-to-reel. So, I know how to be patient. I entered college with every intention of obtaining a Mass Media/Radio degree, but after almost 2 years in the program, I decided that I wanted to teach more.
I recieved voiceover instruction at Valdosta State University. Although I didn't finish the program (short by 3 classes), I learned how to be a better performer and how to self-evaluate.
I have a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education/English which allows me to teach what I love and provides extra time for me to pursue other interests.
I'm very proficent with Cool Edit Pro 2. It is like second skin, and I've used it to create some wonderful work.

Additional Skills
I still teach high school English and voice track the midday shift (10am-3pm) at 95.7 The Mix. I enjoy being able to use my vocal talents both in the classroom and on the air. My students find it rather amusing that their mothers listen to me at work.
