I just recently got into voice over, and am trying to increase my traction in the field. So far, I've done textbook narration on a volunteer basis for Learning Ally in Washington, DC, and have enjoyed it plenty. Generally, I read computer science textbooks for them, as I have training in technical fields, but on occasion, I get the to read some literature (Poe, Graham Greene, etc.), which is an absolute blast.
I have a degree in computer engineering from the University of Maryland. I've taken introductory seminars in voice over from both Edge Studio and Voice Coaches in the Washington, DC area, and was recommended to continue in the program by both groups.
I was also the lead in my high school play (I was Brutus in Julius Caesar), and performed in a community theater performance of The Merchant of Venice as Launcelot Gobbo.
I was also on FM radio for two years in college. My junior year, I helped run a music and variety show called Nashville Vs. Brooklyn, and in my senior year, I co-hosted a talk show called Hostile Takeover. These shows were broadcast on the University of Maryland's WMUC 88.1 FM.
I love to read, both at home and into a microphone, so I have a great vocabulary, which comes in handy for hard-to-read academic copy. I am also a computer professional, so new software skills come easily to me.
