Vicki Sola is a voice actor located in New Jersey, USA. She has been actively working as a voice actor since undefined.
For decades, Vicki Solá and her weekly radio program Que Viva La Música, heard on 89.1 WFDU-FM and online at wfdu.fm, have provided the New York metro community and beyond with Salsa and Latin jazz produced by a singular mix of famous performers, plus artists rarely heard on commercial stations. She has served as emcee in many New York City venues, including Lincoln Center Midsummer Night Swing events.
Her podcast "Perswayssick Radio: Unearthly Comedy" features episodes based on her books, Listeners can escape into the bizarre fantasy sci-fi dimension of Perswayssick County as Solá breathes life into its madcap inhabitants. When earthling Solá morphs into alter ego disc jockey Nicki Rodriguez and clashes with zany extraterrestrial canine-humanoid Gneeecey (and the evil aliens out to get him), the fun and laughs begin! She does all of the voices, from Nicki's to canine-humanoid Gneeecey's and all of his pals' to old ladies' and even Jersey-style alien gangster guys. She switches character voices instantly and does all of the digital audio production, incorporating music and sound effects.
Featured on American Latino TV, Solá was invited to serve as an advisor to the Smithsonian Institution for their traveling exhibition, Latin Jazz: La Combinación Perfecta, and since 1988, her articles and columns have appeared in internationally circulated trade periodicals Que Pasa, Descarga, Impacto, Latin London, and Latin Beat Magazine. Solá was recently interviewed by Joe Torres on ABC-TV Channel 7's "Tiempo" Latino program.
A writer of album liner notes, artist biographies and promotional material, Solá received mention in Jimmy Webb’s Tunesmith (Hyperion), Max Salazar’s Mambo Kingdom: Latin Music in New York (Schirmer Trade Books) and Frank Figueroa’s Encyclopedia of Latin Music in New York (Pillar Publications). She is also the author of two comedic Sci-Fi Fantasies, a novel, The Getaway That Got Away (Full Court Press) and You Can’t Unscramble the Omelet (Perswayssick Press & Audio Works LLC). These works feature a young Latina protagonist who is in the process of finding her power.
Solá has been awarded New York City and New York State Assembly Proclamations.
