When I first moved to the United States from East Africa, my 3rd-grade teacher, and every teacher since, said, "Sharon, you have such lovely diction." Hence, a career as a television broadcast journalist ensued so I could use my perfect diction and smooth delivery. I spent 20 years covering stories on everything from the Super Bowl to the Persian Gulf War to crime, education, health and political stories for viewers in cities across the Southern United States with my last stop as main anchor for NBC in Raleigh, North Carolina. St. Baldrick's Foundation appeal video, hospital training videos and on-hold messages across the state of North Carolina.
