About Ralph
People who hear my voice tell me that they "must listen." My voice is deep and resonant, but still very precise and clear probably due to my Canadian/British background. I have been a public speaker and taught public speaking for most of my professional 30 year career. I have a theater background and can "throw" my voice effortlessly. I can easily imply humor, sarcasm, astonishment, incredulity, as well as grave seriousness in the tone of my voice. I would be comfortable in any voice situation, but would be ideally suited to commercials and documentaries because people are compelled to believe me because of the timbre of my voice. Try me!

- Experience, training, and equipmentI began my career in marketing and transitioned through English literature and theater teaching. For the last twenty years of my professional career I was the Superintendent of Schools for three very high-end school systems and was called upon almost daily, to make oral presentations to a variety of audiences. Based on some of this work, I was asked to do video marketing for professional organizations. I have the kind of voice that when people hear me they say something like: "Who are you - I know that voice?" or "You must be in radio!" ~ baccalaureate - University of British Columbia ~ master's - U. B. C. ~ sixth-year - Boston University ~ doctorate - Boston University ~ numerous workshops attended and given ~ theater work (for example Big Julie in "Guys and Dolls" ~ commercial videos ~ basically, a lifetime speaking, presenting I do not have a home studio, but would be available to any reasonable location in New York or New England. I am not really knowledgeable about audio engineering, but I am a quick study and really energized to get started in voice over and commercial work. In addition to all of my professional voice work, I have coached basketball at the NCAA level, and, how about this for a former Superintendent of Schools - I am currently a highly-requested ski instructor at a very popular ski resort! Just give me a try. I believe you will find my voice compelling and suitable to your professional requirements.
