Seminar leader Ginny McSwain once called me "Another Tress McNeill,("The Simpsons"), the Maureen Stapleton of my students". My wide range comes from my extensive stage experience, where I've played everything from Theatre of the Absurd to Charles Dickens. Some of my favorite work includes "Mrs. Westra" in "Adventures in Odyssey" , recorded at Disney Imagineering in Los Angeles, and "The Headmistress" in "I My Me Strawberry Eggs!" at New Generation Pictures. And check out my screaming, wailing ghost in the cult feature, "The Lady in White"!
In addition to the background I've already mentioned, I'm a founding member of the ADR-Walla group The Talkies, which has provided voices for Imax documentaries and TV movies like "L.A. Johns". Working in ADR has improved my facility with improv, looping and voice match. I'm an experienced singer, and this gives me an edge as well in versatility, in what I can ask my voice to do. I'm also an acting coach. And recently coached my own son into winning the role of Peter in PETER RABBIT for Nick Jr.
I do not have a home studio at this time.
I'm at home in the recording booth and really come alive there! My varied background helps me to take direction easily and quickly implement it, always bringing some personal touch to bring the text to life. As I've mentioned I'm a private acting coach, and this work helps me to solve problems and articulately express myself. I'm equally at home with Comedy or Drama, Commercial Copy. Games or Narration.
