My principal career since 1984 has been as a guitarist and composer of Latin music for adults and bilingual music for children. Along the way I was offered educational narration for children and got hooked on voice-overs as well.
My voice is best described as conversational, friendly, professional, trustworthy, emphatic, natural and animated. My voice can sound kind and empathetic; childlike and whimsical: or professional, serious and formal, as needed for more informational reads and enthusiastic and convincing for commercial reads.a I also enjoy doing character voices with a wide range of expression. I'm open to direction should a client need a specific type of read, and can voice a wide range of characters. My aim is to voice your message the way you'd like it to sound and to be part of your team.
I can complete projects in my own broadcast-quality studio or I can quickly get to one of several nearby professional studios with whom my company, Amador Bilingual Voice-Overs, has a longtime relationship. Since 1994 I've recorded hundreds of voice-overs for documentaries, tutorials and industrials, medical/health institutions, children's books, eLearning, and interactive websites, including character voices for senior men and animated characters.
I have extensive experience doing educational narrations in particular, and have, for the past 3 years been chosen to narrate and compose instrumental music for numerous children's audio books and eLearning projects with major publishers. My first audio book won the American Library Association's "2010 Best Children's Audio Recordings". This being said, I also narrate and act for a great variety of voice-over work in general. I am a flexible voice-over actor and welcome new challenges as well as that which I'm more accustomed to doing.
As a professional guitarist and composer of many original songs and instrumental selections for audio books, I welcome opportunities to use my talents for my clients' projects. My wife is a professional singer and we can easily record together in our studio for any project I'm involved in.
I love my work! Clients tell me they enjoy my quick sense of humor, and that I'm easy to work with because of my relaxed attitude and willingness to find just the right voice for their projects.
“Brian’s warm, rich voice made him the perfect choice to play the role of Papi on our Lola’s Fandango storytime CD. He blended wry humor with genuine tenderness to bring the father-daughter relationship central to the story to life. Brian is a joy to work with, and was unbelievably patient in recording and incorporating a number of last-minute changes. I cannot recommend his services highly enough!”

“Brian Amador was the reader for our recording of a bilingual Children's chapter book. I wanted a voice that conveyed the Spanglish of the southwest. On top of that I wanted someone who was soft-spoken and slightly geeky. Brian nailed the accents and character perfectly, creating the voice of a Latino Encyclopedia Brown.
He was a complete professional from start to finish. The recording went smoothly, working with the Director and Executive Producer, working patiently to get the accents right and the character voices perfect. He was thoroughly prepared for the recording and delivered the final product right on time.”

“I first saw Brian and his group Sol y Canto perform at a benefit concert. I was amazed at how versatile he was on the guitar and how adept at playing a variety of Latin styles and was impressed with his songwriting and singing.
I asked Brian if he would like to narrate a children's audiobook for me and to compose and perform the background guitar music to the reading.
He proved to be an excellent storyteller with a strong presence, able to create a variety of voices for the different, sometimes very silly, characters in the book. The music that he created and performed was perfect as a backdrop to the story and at conveying its emotional content.
Brian is the ultimate professional. He meets his deadlines and is very conscientious about delivering the best possible performance. I have since worked on three such productions with Brian, and plan to continue to work with him as much as possible!”
