I'm only beginning voiceover work, and have no credits. My background is in stage, film and TV; drama and comedy. I have short commercial demo reels, audio and video. I would like to begin at entry level, with voicemail messages and the like, until I have done enough paid v/o work.
A 13-year veteran of academia, I hold a BA, MA, STL and MSLIS. I have studied voiceover work with Steve Garrin of Videoactive Productions, and attended one workshop with Peter Rofe and Randy Thomas. I have studied acting and allied stage disciplines intensively. I am a member of AFTRA, AGMA and formerly of AGVA; a former dancer with 20 years in the industry. As an actress I perform classics, comedy and character roles. I am a member of the NYC-based Instant Shakespeare Company, and a regular performer in the Manhattan Monologue Slam and the TV cable show, "I'll Make You a Star." I have worked as a journalist, both editor and writer, and as a UN representative for an NGO based in Mumbai. I am a poet.
I have a Blue Snowball USB mic to plug into my 2007 Toshiba laptop, and Audacity as an editing program. Until I become expert with these, for a reasonable fee I may use the recording studio at NY Castings.
I have a broad background in Humanities, and am known as a superior wordsmith in English, and as a creative writer. I received my secondary school education in the UK, and am very much at home with British culture. I have traveled and lived throughout the Mediterranean, and absorbed much of the languages and cultures of its various regions. As a theologian with two academic and one pontifical degree in that discipline, I focused on world religions and the cultures from which they spring. I hold a fourth degree in Library and Information Science. I am conversant with Eastern spiritual systems, and alternative medicine. As I know Latin and Greek, I am comfortable with conventional medical terms as well. I know Latin, Greek and Sanskrit theological terms (and I do pronounce them correctly.)
