Rich, crisp, articulate, friendly, deep, classical
Thomas Meaney's voice is deep, crisp, and articulate.
When it comes to narration, he spent four years onstage making his living as a Shakespearean actor so there's no word too big, no sentence too long, no phrasing too tricky. During his time on the road he lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia, and New Hampshire.
He also spent part of college as a chemical engineering major and is still an enthusiastic amateur scientist, so he feels very comfortable when the copy get technical.
But it's not all stentorian professor! A native of Southern California, he can also throttle back into a warm, friendly, guy-next-door timbre with a more casual sound for commercials, and fun narration.
Add to that an assortment of gravelly and extra-deep character voices for animation and commercials, and you've got yourself a Thomas Meaney.

My Voice Experience
Thomas started on the performance side of the business, touring for four years doing Shakespeare. He then moved to the production side and started producing and sound designing commercials. He provided scratch voiceover for commercials he was working on and directors started telling him, "We like the scratch VO; keep it."
After a couple years he starts getting more and more VO work from friends, realized that was his favorite part of the process, bought a good mic, and switched to doing it full-time.
Companies Thomas has worked with:
Margaritaville Drink Maker
BA in Writing and Theatre from Johns Hopkins University
Two semesters abroad in Theatre program at Goldsmiths College, University of London
Two years post production program at Santa Monica College: Academy of Entertainment Technology: Pro Tools, After Effects, sound design, etc.
Voiceover classes with David H. Lawrence XVII
My Studio Equipment
AT2035 condenser mic
Acoustically-treated recording booth
M-Audio "Fast Track" M box
Pro Tools 10
Akai MPK Mini keyboard
21.5" quad-core iMac running OSX 10.6.8, 16GB RAM
All equipment is located in my home so I have 24/7 access to it.
As a former full-time producer, sound designer, and writer I offer full copy writing services, as well as sweetening, foley, sound design, et cetera.
I have a 3GB sound library of royalty-free sound effects, and if I don't have it I can record it. If the sound doesn't exist in the real world, I can create it.
All audio you receive from me will be leveled, mastered, cleaned up, and ready to plug in.
I'm an avid crossword solver, amateur science nerd, and former classical actor so I'm very comfortable with esoteric vocabulary, technical writing, antiquated English, and verse.
I speak Spanish and German: not quite well enough to record in them, but well enough to be very comfortable with Spanish and German proper nouns, and well enough to translate to English out of both languages.
