My Voice Experience
I realized at an early age I had a "gift." At 2, I was playing piano with both hands awing my parents and family members. At 12, I was asked to perform vocal solos by elementary school teachers. At 15, I was asked to front a professional Jazz band "for hire" that I sang in throughout high school. At 18, I went off to school with much of my college paid for through vocal/music scholarships. At 28, I cut a record that was launched onto the dance charts in Great Britain. Along the way, I was a class clown imitating different people and making my friends laugh and cringe at the same time due to the eerie way my voice sounded identical to those only known by friends and family at the time. Did some stage acting as well. Adapting my voice to different situations stylistically, through speaking, or singing various styles/genres, is something that comes easy. I learned to appreciate it and, well, just have fun with it. And that's really the key to it all for me. That's my approach to everything I do with my voice. Works well so far!
