Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Most of my accents and affected voices that is gender or national specific is not meant to fool anyone into beleiving that I'm one thing or another. It is meant to be a variation of my regular voice. However, it has been entertaining in my teaching career and I've used it quite well in story-telling or explanations.

My Voice Experience

I'm new to voice work but worked in radio prior to becoming a teacher. I was the news guy. In one job, I did a more strait-laced job in delivering the news and running the boards but in my second job, simply voice work, I was allowed to be more sarcastic in my news reporting and allowed to delve into political satire.

My Training

My training is related to my teaching profession and does not include specific radio or voice training besides a career of using my voice within the classroom.

My Studio Equipment

I have a traditional mixer and microphone and use both through a laptop to create my samples.

Additional Skills

My career in teaching has afforded me many opportunities to use my voice to bring a certain level of excitement in describing history. Between my brief stint in radio and the years of teaching, I feel I've been in training for narration or other voice work through the last twenty years.
