My Voice Experience

I was the voice of the Connecticut dept. of transportation's ride share program... I also did the phone tree and on hold messages for them as well. My most recent job was 4 radio spots for UCONN's MBA program. I also recently did a VO job for a marketing company called Studio 98 for all of their video advertisements. I have primarily secured work as a Theater performer in musicals. Some of my favorite roles include : Tommy (Narrator, Tommy), Hair (Berger), J.C. Superstar (Jesus), Assassins (John Hinckley), Grease (Danny), Evita (Che), Batboy (Rick/Lorraine), and Children of Eden (Adam). I have worked for the past 3 years as an mc for a karaoke company. My experience in theater allows me to draw on all of the emotions necessary to get across in a V.O. Of course, in voiceovers all of the energy goes into the read, not into the physical aspects of the character or copy.

My Training

I am currently a member of VOU team with the experts at voiceovers unlimited. I have been a participant in several copy reading workshops and agent semimars designed to hone my skills as a voiceover professional as well as hours of one on one instruction. I emerged with a solid foundation in voiceover. In addition, I have a B.A. in theater from State University of N.Y. at Stony Brook. I have also taken voiceover and private acting lessons at Acting Studio East with Veteran actor and V.O. Steve Beauchamp.

My Studio Equipment

I have my home studio which allows me to create high quality mp3 voice files. I can edit them with my Audacity software and export them in a timely fashion. I also have access to ISDN.

Additional Skills

In addition to my theater, music and voiceover experience, I have been a food service industry professional for 10 years. Having worked for several years in fine dining I have received an education in food, wine and discipline that I would never have had otherwise. It serves me well in social situations as well as in the voiceover business. Pronunciation, diction and poise are all hallmarks of foodservice particularly at the 3 star level, and the utmost control over these faculties is what makes a great voiceover professional.
