My Voice Experience
It all started as a kid when I was playing with my sister's tape recorder. By the time I was 15 I had recorded a radio show with my friends. Always taking the opportunities to speak and sing in church. I worked as a temp DJ at a roller rink for a short time. Became a Youth Pastor and took on some public speaking engagements.
In 1995 I was invited to sing in Nashville Tennessee and ten years later was invited to take part in singing for a Cheerios commercial.
In 2010 I auditioned for a job as a Voice Talent for a local radio station and got the job even though I had little or no experience or training. I started as the morning anchor. Part of my job at the radio station was to voice commercial spots at various times with various character voices and normal reads.
As I voiced more spots for various clients, my voice was being requested more and more. It became my favorite part of the job.
The training I've had is through my life experiences as well as on-the-job training at the radio station which I spoke of in the above frame. It's been a part of my life for almost 35 years. With the on air radio experience and some production experience, I am my own voice director in my personal home studio.
My Studio Equipment
Excellent quality 3x9 sound booth. AKG C3000B Mic. Tascam US-122L Interface on the latest (2012) Mac, Garageband & Cubase LE applications. I opened a Skype account so voice direction can be live.
I continue to seek opportunities to sing. I sing Michael Buble hits at a local cafe as well as the Canadian National Anthem at the Canad Inns Stadium for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers pro football team in front of 30,000 people. I'm involved in singing different arrangements in my local church and looking for more opportunities to collaborate. I've been singing for 35 years!
