My Voice Experience

Presenter for StormFM from September 2007- May 2010. Winner of the 2008 Storm Award (in conjunction with BBC Radio Cymru) for Best Newcomer. With StormFM I presented a regular specialist metal show, as well as three mainstream shows and a weekly pre-recorded news bulletin, mixed and edited by ourselves.

Actor in "Pontypool" by Tony Burgess, 2010. This was a radio drama taken from the book and screenplay of "Pontypool" by Tony Burgess. I played Sydney Briar, the sassy and domineering radio producer who loses the veneer of controlling when faced with a crisis, and becomes scared and upset as the crisis progresses.

Actor in "Radio Stars" by Jack Green, 2009. This radio drama was a post-graduate piece in which I played Rachel Whetton, the bossy and sarcastic head of a children's radio station. The part of Rachel Whetton was based on the character of Lynda Day (played by Julia Sawalha) from the 1989 series Press Gang, written by Stephen Moffat.

My Training

BA English with Theatre Studies from the University of Wales, Bangor - 2:1; includes classes in voice control, singing and voice for genre.

Drama classes with Carl Ferguson at The Bedfordshire School of Dance and Drama; includes workshops in voice for stage, voice for recording and voice for genre.

Regular presenter and production training with StormFM.

BBC Radio One Masterclass - Bangor with Radio Academy.

Audio Technica MB3K Unidirectional Dynamic Mic with Mic stand, Microphone Pop Filter Shield for Mic Stand, Audacity voice recording and editing software for both Windows XP and Ubuntu 10.04 Linux.

Additional Skills

Able to edit and produce finished voiceover work with Audacity, through production training and regular pre-recorded new bulletins with StormFM.
