Zack Read

Professional, deep, smooth, gritty, offbeat

Voice Description

I will try my best to provide any sort of voice genre possible. My voice is naturally rather deep and masculine sounding. Whatever you are looking for I will give 110% as I am rather new at this, yet am very ambitious. I can do warm and deep with ease for all projects, gritty and dark if necessary, crisp and clear for those who prefer that modern electronic appeal.

My Home Base

, California, United States

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

American accents without a doubt, east coast, west coast, midwest. Personalities are also easy so long as there are instructions as to the preference as far as excited, hyper-active, calm and cool, sexy and classy, etc.
I can also rap really well, for those of you marketing to the hip-hop/rap crowd.

My Voice Experience

I recently moved to San Francisco after graduating from college and majoring in English literature. I am articulate and well-spoken with a strong background in the writing-field. My day job currently allows for lots of personal interaction, and not a day goes by that someone does not comment on my voice.
I hear,
"Do you do radio?",
"Are you one of those voice-over guys?",
"Wow! You have a really deep voice, you should look into doing something with it."
People always have something to say about it, and I honestly did not think much of it until recently. I did my first professional voice-over last week for a restaurant called "Silvergreens", located in Santa Barbara, California. It is a short voice-over for the end of a commercial that is currently playing on local television in the Southern California area. Although I am not very experienced with voice-overs, I do have crisp sounding recording equipment in my home that I can use freely. I do not need studio time and am very capable of creating audio tracks and sending them via internet; this is actually how I recorded the "Silvergreens" commercial spot.

My Training

I graduated from Sonoma State University in May 2008 with my BA in English Literature.
I spent a couple semesters as a DJ and Radio personality for KSUN the SSU radio station.
I am very experienced with recording, as I have been making my own music for the past three years. Again, what I lack in experience, I most definitely make up in ambition, work-ethic, and personal drive. I am a very hard-working person and will do my absolute best to make the final product sound exactly the way you would like it.

My Studio Equipment

I have my own studio in my apartment.
I record on a MacBook with LogicPro and have access to an endless supply of effects and so on. My microphone is a Beringher B1 that I have connected to a PreSonus Firebox, as well as a PreSonus dual path BlueTube for compression and clarification. I have an ear for quality production sound and strive to make myself sound as professional as possible.

Additional Skills

I have excellent people skills and am motivated to show I am ready to work for you. Whatever type of project you have in store, I am anxious to show you what I can do. Also, because I am new to this, I imagine that I will work for a lower budget than most other individuals. I also work well under time-constraints, and because I have a studio in my home, I am always able to work on projects.
Thanks for your consideration.
