Distinctive, authoritative, warm, trustworthy.
Distinctive, warm, authoritative, trustworthy and believable. Not basso profundo, but rich and resonant for narrations, books and spokesperson commercials. Plenty of up tempo punch when needed. Natural mid-range dialog. Trust inspiring. Professional yes, but approachable.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
DownEast Maine/Maine accent.
I've included two demos here to highlight this accent, which was most recently employed by "Weathervane Seafood Restaurants" in a national TV campaign.
But please understand that my normal voice exhibits no regionlisms.
My Voice Experience
Wide experience in the national/New England voice arena in commercials and industrials. Lots of high tech and medical narration. News read, too.
Just a few of my clients:
Liberty Mutual: National TV
Nissan: NE, Kansas City Spokesperson
American General Financial Group:National TV
Miller Brewing: Corporate Spokesperson
Aetna Insurance: Narrator
John Hancock: Narrator
Cambridge Savings: Regional TV
Ski Massachusetts: Regional Radio
American Skiing: National Radio
And many, many more.
My demos on Voice 123 are all from the last couple of years.
I grew up in New York, moved to Maine as a young adult, received a BS in Education and an MA in Theater.
I currently am a full professor of theater teaching stage and film acting, public speaking and oral interpretation at the University of Southern Maine.
My Studio Equipment
I have a home studio using an AKG C3000B mic or a Samson VR88 Ribbon mic though a firewire interface to my Macbook Pro and Pro Tools.
I also live about 10 minutes from a professional (ISDN) studio in Portland, Maine renowned for its clients, a place where I've recorded national and regional spots for agencies far and wide.
I got my start in the voice/on-camera business as the Sports Director/weekend news anchor for an NBC affiliate in Bangor Maine (WLBZ-TV) when I was a grad student, and it's been on from there.
I've also done lots of on-camera television and film work from hosting my own Public television (MPBN) shows to appearing in national films and TV series in principal roles. Please check out my YouTube channel at wsteele99.
I also direct plays in the Greater Portland area and am a company member of the Rocky Coast Radio Theater.
