Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can play the part of an Irish policeman or priest very well. With the New York accent I have I could mix right in on the streets of Brooklyn. I can do a decent impersonation of Jimmy Stewart right out of a scene from the movie 'Harvey' and if your a fan of old radio programs I can do a great impersonation of the actor who did 'Farmer Moody' on the Fred Allen radio show who also played the part of the old gent on the Pepperidge Farm commericials some years back. I have a great cartoon voice that I have used on the stage for children's plays that I call 'My voice on helium' I can do German accents and Swedish accents.

My Voice Experience

My stage experience stretched my voice out of its comfort zone. In order to stay in character I had to become that character with all its accents and voices, emotions, quirks, triumphs and failures, joys and sorrows. The radio spot that I did for the job service I worked for was a challenge. Not only did I have to speak fast, I had to be understood as well. People would often say "How can you speak that fast and still manage to say something that I can understand?"

My Training

Seven years experience with a community theater group doing musicals and drama. Operated sound and light equipment backstage and helped on stage crew on different plays.
I did a radio spot for a local radio and TV station for four years for a state employment agency.
I am a published author and have written three novels. I am working with someone on my authors website and will soon be working with someone else on a book trailer to promote my books.
I have sung in choral groups and have done work as a back-up singer in our church musical ensemble.

My Studio Equipment

I normally use audacity to record my voice-over files but I can record a voice project on a CD if requested and have phone patch capabilities.

Additional Skills

I am currently a published author and have been interviewed on a number of radio shows across the US. One of my novels is currently being made into a screenplay.
