My Voice Experience

I have voiced an audio book titled March of the Cogsmen and performed a radio ad for Hangoutfest radio.
When I was seven years old I saw the movie "The Black Cauldron" and I became fascinated by the "Gurgi" character. I then saw a documentary on the making of the same movie and I watched the metamorphosis of the voice actor from himself speaking during the interview to the "Gurgi" character when he was asked to provide a sample of his work on the film. I was mesmerized. I spent the next few weeks learning how to make the same sounds I had heard. When I could "do the voice" I started to look around for more. I branched out to Kermit the Frog and Yoda soon after and I have been doing different voices for my friends and family members ever since. I have always been very creative and possess a great sense of humor and comedic timing. I really love talking and have found that I can have a conversation about almost anything with anyone while remaining completely at ease.

My Training

For the past month I have made extensive use of the Voice123 website. I took a vocal performance workshop from Leah Frederick on 6/13/12 which was very helpful in learning more about the art of voice over acting. I was in the U.S. Army for four years as a communication specialist and was a telephone operator during that time. I have also worked extensively in phone based technical support. I have spent the majority of the last ten years with a large part of my job description to include speaking professionally.

My Studio Equipment

I have spent over six years providing computer technical support so I have a wealth of computer related skills and technical ability. I have the Adobe audition software and an inexpensive microphone. I have an ATR2500-USB Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone however and I am very happy with the results. The demos I have posted have all been re-recorded with my new mic. I definitely plan to upgrade my home studio equipment once I gain more experience with the craft.

Additional Skills

I have the Adobe audition software and an inexpensive microphone. I am just beginning my journey in to voice acting so I have not made any sizable purchases for equipment. I definitely plan to upgrade my home studio equipment once I gain more experience with the craft.
