Crisp, Resonant, Articulate, Mellifluous
My voice is clear, deep, and articulate. I have the kind of voice that carries and commands attention, even in a big room with a big audience. I have the kind of voice one might ascribe to a motivational speaker -- not preachy, but convincing; not boring, but riveting; not monotonous, but varied. My voice persuades audiences to listen to what I have to say. It is calm and soothing and, alternately, forceful and booming when need be.

I can do a Caribbean accent; I can do black dialect (for example, in the style of dialogue from Zora Neale Hurston's THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD); I can do a Southern accent (i.e., the American South); I can do an impersonation of a gum-chewing, back-talking, sassy woman from Brooklyn.
My Voice Experience
I am an English professor, and I lecture to MIT undergraduate students every day.
It takes a knowledgeable and avid reader of books to convey how passages or dialogue from a work of fiction, more specifically, should be read. I read with the right amount of emphasis; the right intonation; the right pitch; the right pace.
PhD in English Language & Literature from the University of Virginia
BA in English Language & Literature from Dartmouth College
High School Diploma from Erasmus Hall High School for Performing Arts.
My Studio Equipment
