Sean Brown

Anglo accents galore and deep

Voice Description

I have a deep, resonant voice, I have been told I do a decent Don LaFontaine. I can lower my voice to very very deep and even mimmick a LaFontaine sound.

I have a well rounded voice talent and have done commercials, tv pilots/series and feature films, so I deliver whatever the Director needs.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can cover just about any anglo-accent: English (cockney, middle class, common, upperclass and royalty), Irish (Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), Scottish, Australian/New Zealand, Canadian. I also do French and German (accented English only) and Russian.

My 'regular' voice is typical All American, mid-Atlantic, so not a readily discernible accent, but I CAN do all US accents: Southern, Texan, Northern (NY and Boston), mid-West, Californian.

I can also do a kind of comedic Mexican accent, definitely cliche.

My Voice Experience

Coming from Wall Street, and having spent literally thousands of hours on the telephone, using my voice talent to close millions of dollars in deals. One of the reasons I was so successful was because I used my voice to be a chameleon: When I called someone from Texas, I spoke as much like a Texan as I could. Same with South Carolinians or Southern Californians. People ALWAYS feel better dealing with someone who talks just like they do. I made thousands of trades as a direct result of that.

I would even make notes on my lead cards, and, once they were clients, on their client file, that described their accents so I would be ready to slide into whatever accent was required for that call. I didn't hide that I was calling from NYC, I just made it sound as though I was not dissimilar from the prospect to put them at ease. And trust me: it worked!

Since then, I have not done specific voice over work, but I HAVE done several film and television projects, all of which required a voice that was slightly different from my own. in the feature film "Gods and Generals" I portrayed a Yankee General Staff Officer and then, in the same film, I had to portray Confederate Cavalry, so my Southern Accent (and a facial hair change!) came in handy!

I have since started doing some voiceover work for a company who is doing travel podcasts and I am narrating some nighttime historical tours of various cities all up and down the eastern seaboard.

My Training

Archbishop Martin Spalding High School: Drama, Sound.
The Citadel, Charleston, SC: Bachelors, Political Science
United States Marine Corps: OCS, TBS
I have extensive dramatic training, covering Shakespearean classes, actually acting in Shakespearean plays, comedic plays (I have excellent 'timing!')
I have full access to a complete recording studio with soundproof rooms and a recording engineer, at my request. I can submit recordings in whatever format necessary and can have SOME post-production work done on them.

My Studio Equipment

I am NOT an audio engineer, but I will update this section as soon as I can get a call through to my recording engineer. I try not to call after 9pm.

Additional Skills

again: Perfect timing for any comedy. The capacity to do just about any accent, and while I do not do impressions, I have always had an excellent ear at discerning what makes an accent sound the way it does.

Additionally, with my military and financial background, I can produce any types of variants you may want of those kinds of voices: I can easily sound like the famous Gunnery Sergeant R.Lee Ermey.
