Scotch Wichmann

Character Specialist, Cartoon, Comedic, Radio

Voice Description

My voice has a lot of character options for commercials, narration, and animation:

Energetic, excited, peppy, hyper, buoyant, upbeat

Wry, dry, sarcastic...the slow burn

Smooth, fast-talking, sensual -- that funny "sexy jazz guy" voice you hear on radio commercials

Nasally, sharp -- geeky, whiny, self-inflated, cheeky, upper crust, boarding school

Bellowy, blustery -- like a lazy St. Bernard with big floppy jowls

My Voice Experience

I'm a successful standup comedian (Improv, Gotham NYC, Purple Onion, BBC) who uses character voices on stage, so I have a studied sense of comedic and dramatic timing.

I've done voice over work for product commercials (Meth Coffee) and narration for multimedia presentations (Cisco). I've also worked in radio as both a radio announcer (KKAM 1340 Fresno) and comedian (Pirate Cat 87.9 and FCC Free 107.3 in San Francisco, Rock 105 in Jacksonville).

Additional Skills

I've performed standup comedy in clubs across the U.S. with talent like Joe Klocek (Last Comic Standing), Eddie Brill (David Letterman), and Kurtis Matthews (Celebrity Rehab). Characters are a big part of my act -- I love inventing voices, especially comedic and melodramatic.

I've also been a performance artist since 1992. My experimental work, which has focused on experimental monologues and made-up characters, has appeared at venues like the L.A. Performance Arts Center, MOCA, HIGHWAYS, and the University of California.

I'm also a strong writer. If your script needs punching up, I can help. I have a B.A. in English, a respectable list of published articles, and I've written creative copy for Fortune 500 companies like Cisco.
