My Voice Experience

Ever since I was little, I have been making recordings. I made commercials with my own little tape player, I narrated clips of my favorite TV shows, and I did an on-camera commercial for a school project. At a very early age people began telling me I should do something with my voice. Later in life I held a job as a phone interviewer, and many people I interviewed told me I had a great voice for radio.

Fast forward a little bit. For years, my friends have used me as a source of entertainment (in a good way!). I did funny impressions in college and got into stage acting. In recent years I have been able to experiment with my voice a great deal and record some cool projects, including a professional training video, a commercial, a series of podcasts, and a pilot episode for an anime series. I've also done background vocals for a local band. I take direction very well, so I'm very easy to work with.

My Training

Bachelor of Science, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville

Community theatre

Film (Chicago and St. Louis)

Background vocals (Avex)

My Studio Equipment

A close friend of mine is an audio engineer who has his degree in Audio for Visual Media. He produces both music and voice recordings at his home studio, where he runs Pro Tools on a Mac computer. We have worked together on many projects and he recorded and mixed my professional demo. He is incredibly knowledgeable and reliable. I go to him for everything and he does amazing work.

Additional Skills

I was a phone interviewer for 2 years, and was constantly told I have a great phone voice. This continued for years into my current job as a receptionist, where I'm on the phone all the time. I've done theater and film for over 10 years so my voice gets better and more versatile all the time. I am not afraid to try anything and I take direction very well. Friends and employers consistently ask me to do projects for them that involve voice acting. Past employers would say I am very dependable, hardworking, and organized, and this definitely carries over into my acting career as well.
