My Voice Experience
My most recent voice over credit was a Victoria's Secret Spotify spot, the tone of which was fun and energetic, engaging Spring-time shoppers. Before that, came a web promo, in which I voiced an animated college-age daughter, who was able to reconnect with her dad through the use of technology. Prior to that, I provided a completely new prompt set for a home security company's Avatar telemarketing system. The job included close to 20 cues and I provided post-editing services as well. I'm an actress/singer/dancer by trade, with over 10 years of classical singing technique, although I started out singing R&B and Pop styles (learning from listening to Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, etc). My singing can be heard on the Original Cast Recordings of "Platypus the Musical" (2013 short film starring Jennifer Elise Cox and GLEE's Alex Newell) and "At the Toscars" (studio track of the Opening Number of the 7th Annual Toscars). Also, in 2010 I was hired as Quartet Soprano for Samuel French's online demo of the musical "A 1940's Radio Christmas Carol." Most of my training and experience is onstage, but like every girl born in the 80's, I've dreamed of voicing a Disney Princess for as long as I can remember! I began my commercial training in 2011 with private coaching in Chicago and within 3 months I completed my first commercial demo.
Shenandoah Conservatory: Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, (Graduated 2009, Magna Cum Laude), Certificate in Classical Vocal Performance. Collegiate Courses Include: Acting Technique, Singing Technique, Scene Study, Acting Through Song, Improvisation, Voice & Speech, Accents & Dialects, Contemporary Commercial Singing Styles, Piano, Music Theory, Sightsinging, Ear Training, and more. Post Grad: Commercial Voice Over Coaching (Jeff Lupetin, Chicago), On-Camera Acting Technique Workshop, (Matt Miller through Second City Training Center), Advanced Scene Study Class (Darrel Cox, Profiles Theatre, Chicago), Casting Internship (O'Connor Casting Company, Chicago).
My Studio Equipment
AKG C-214 Microphone, Tascam DP-008 Mixing Board, H2Next Digital Recorder, Wavelab LE7 Editing and Mastering Software. Access to numerous New York recording studios.
I have strong improvisational skills (studied at Second City). I'm quick-witted, and love thinking outside of the box when it comes to creating comedic scenes and moments. As a result of all the singing training, I have great breath support and a ton of control over dynamics. I really enjoy molding phrases, and I strive to find musicality in every copy I read because I find that it adds interest and depth. Also, I have 5 months experience doing in-store product demonstrations and sales for an international company, resulting in a great comfort level speaking to crowds, and promoting products while providing entertainment.
