Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Gameshow host, Pirate, sea captain, French Canadian, Scottish or English variations

My Voice Experience

I provided voice-overs for a variety of animal characters (a raspy squirrel, a lounge-singing tree frog, an eccentric chipmunk) in a 3-part series of children's films - Stranger in the Woods, Lost in the Woods and First Snow in the Woods. For two episodes of the series, The Riddle Solvers, I was a one-legged pirate, a 1950's dentist, a salty old sea captain, and a wide variety of animal characters (a singing sea-lion, a slimy eel).
For a promotional video with the Smithsonian Channel, I was a gruff singing crocodile man, loosely inspired by Neil Diamond.
For the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry, I have done a variety of character voices for commercials and interactive kiosks - a gameshow host, a superhero announcer, a French-Canadian crayfish, a raspy Transylvanian bat.

My Training

I have worked for ten years as a filmmaker specializing in wildlife films and family/children's entertainment. I have a B.S. in Communications from Michigan State University.

My Studio Equipment

My sound booth where I do most of my voice-over work is simple but effective. With walls constructed from acoustical foam, it gives a good clean sound. I record using a Marshall MXL 2003 Studio Condensor Microphone into the SoundDevices 702T digital recorder.

Additional Skills

I have also written music and performed character vocals for various songs.
