My Voice Experience
I have always been comfortable with public speaking, whether as the president of the PTA or at local public forums as a small business owner. Several years ago, I was asked to record a testimonial for a local hospital following knee replacement surgery. The radio spot was recorded in a professional studio and ran for over a year on local and national news stations. The postive feedback I received both in the studio ("you have a natural speaking voice" - the producers and client applauded after the first take, which was chosen as the final after a total of only three takes) and by those who heard it played on the radio completely surprised me. I was encouraged to consider a career in voice acting and am hoping to be able to move forward in this arena. I have little experience to date since I was focused on running my own food business and am now "retired" taking care of my 91 year old mother, which affords me some free time to pursue voice acting.
I took a course at a local BOCES entitled "Voice Acting - Getting Paid to Talk" offered by a producer at Voice Coaches in Albany, New York. I decided to enroll in training with them and completed the course work. As a result, I recorded a demo and have a website. Please log on to www.PatriciaFlynn.icanvoice.com to hear my demo!
