My Voice Experience

I am only a day old in the VO industry. (Please check back for updates as this comment is being made on Mar. 12, 2011 - smile.) I have always wanted to venture into this realm - I'd been innundated with "Wow, your voice is so mezmorizing!" and "Can you record my outgoing voice mail message?" comments from family and friends ever since I was about 13 years old. Finally, I've been presented with the opportunity to pursure this option more assiduouslly. I am primarily interested in gaining VO experience, and eagerly look forward to putting polish on those projects which may not have the budget for the voice talent I can provide. (Non-VO-related experience: hospitality and special event professional for 16 years.)

My Training

Well, I was in drama school from about 4 until 16 where we were taught acting classes. I had about 30 minutes of VO coaching when I did a radio commercial back in 2004. My primary avenue of VO training has come through public speaking within my former career. (Non-VO-related education: BBA 2003, Howard Univ.)

I have no studio equipment. (Please refer to VO experience in previous section.)

Additional Skills

I am very excited to finally pursue this phase of my life. I may be a novice, but I am aware of the talent I possess. Please do not let the number of years I've been doing this "professionally" throw you: I would be thrilled to share my voice with you!
