Millie Stouse

Soft, serious or playful, character, documentary

Voice Description

Generally speaking, my voice is usually described as sexy, soft, somewhat sophisticated, warm, and depending on the "ear" my natural accent can sound slightly southern; also raspy at times - depending..I am the family mimic and usually do impressions after listening to a specific voice.
I have a lot of experience in radio and television voice over production. I have also performed in the theater and have played characters ranging from United Kingdom to Blanche from Streetcar Named Desire in a comedic spoof for the Tennessee Williams Festival here in New Orleans-"Desire, Desire Desire". Monologues, dialogues and everything in between.

Have mike, software and a "can do" spirit-It's a new world in voice acting, and I am willing to play my part as "sound engineer" since that is now required. Thanks for viewing my profile. Warm Regards, Millie

British, Cajun, southern drawl - various y'all! - northern "Minnisoda" a little "Baston" Mass.; "snob", etc.If I play around with it, I usually can nail it.

My Voice Experience

I've been doing free lance voice over work in the New Orleans market since 1982. Prior to that, I was a radio announcer for a few stations in Lafayette, LA. (where I honed the Cajun accent (from REAL Cajuns, not"mais ya sha" type of characterization!)

I've done commercials for radio and television, documentaries, industrial, and even a few cartoon characters for a museum piece. I worked in theater for awhile, performing a number of comedic roles.

I live in New Orleans with my husband and son, and work in this market whenever I can. I have done projects that have run regionally. I am open to new ideas, direction, etc..I am your clay!

My Training

Radio Announcer from 1978-1981
Freelance Radio/TV Announcer from 1982 - present

Completed two years of study at The University Of Louisiana @ Lafayette and The University of New Orleans where I majored in communications. Became a stay at home mom and have yet to complete those studies, but have found that working in radio (from the age of 18 on)and TV was the best education I could hope for. On the job training vs.getting the degree had me firmly choosing the former. Should I return to school, I am considering speech pathology and therapy as my new major.

Attended a couple of seminars for Broadcast Performance Skills.

I also have written copy on occasion when the presented scripts needed an overhaul; and copy editing as well.

My Studio Equipment

I have access to a recording studio if needed; and a simple set up at my home where I am able to record voice tracks and email them. This is a recent addition to my computer, as I wanted to be able to at least get the voice tracks done should the need arise to have something cut and sent out of town. I usually am called by the local studios who have been very nice and given me a lot of work . Since out of town (potential) clients may not want to pay a studio fee, this microphone enables me to provide broadcast quality recordings.

Additional Skills

I see a number of jobs listed that I know I can perform, but have not yet been properly matched in the system. All I ask is give me a try, it will only cost you a minute of your time :-)!

Payment Methods Accepted
