Intelligent, contemporary, hip, friendly
Max Lodge is an emerging voice over artist with a strong and varied performance background. A trained theater actor, his voice is versatile and adaptable to a wide range of copy. He can switch from the quirky, goofy 20-something of the fast food spot to the voice of authority of narration.
Conversational guy next door, wry and character for commercial.
Medium-pitched, relaxed, warm and sophisticated for narrations.
Professional and clean for phone/IVR.
Wide range of character for animation.
Having grown up as an American expatriate in Paris, France, he not only speaks fluent French but brings a certain Continental charm to his reads when appropriate.

My Voice Experience
Through an agency I freelance with, I booked a demo for a Gillette spot that ran in Québec. That opening into the VO world led me to seek training.
I have just completed recording a VO demo at Marla Kirban Voiceovers in New York. Nothing excites me more than making a simple piece of text on a page come alive. I love to explore new characters and voices and love the feeling of being in an audio booth playing with language. Having grown up as an American in France, I'm fluent in French. I also speak Spanish.
BA in Theater: Eugene Lang College/New School University
Studied under Bruce Kronenberg at Marla Kirban Voiceovers.
Studied Improvisation at UCB studios.
I am a writer and have produced a number of my own works: one-person shows, short films and web content.
I am also a New York City tour guide, well educated and can speak with authority on a number of subjects. Fluent in French and conversational in Spanish.
My Studio Equipment
AKG Perception 100 in a professional grade acoustically treated setting.
Apogee One USB Audio Interface
Garage Band powered on a Mac.
A couple things that come in handy when relating to copy:
I have a strong addiction to fast food, so talking about that is never a problem!
I love games, any games: basketball, ping pong, scrabble, charades. You name it, I'll play it. I bring this playfulness to the audio booth.
I love words. I am a total nerd when it comes to reading. I consume language like I consume food or breathe air. That's what makes VO copy so fascinating to me, be it commercial, narration, animation--language is my passion.
I'm a city kid. I always grew up in cities. Mainly Paris and New York. This lends a certain worldly sophistication to my reads but I HATE pretentiousness and I LOVE to play the fool.
In addition to auditioning and working as a straight-ahead actor, I'm usually writing or producing my own projects. Currently I'm self-producing a comedic webseries lampooning starving actors. Before that, I wrote, directed and produced a one-person show spoofing the hit self-help book "The Secret".
