My Voice Experience

Years ago, I worked in a little radio station in the Keys. They hired me to do sales but liked my voice and asked me to do some woiceover work. I ended up doing voiceovers and dropped sales.
At the station I began writing copy and producing my work. It ranged from sincere to wild country voices and southern dialect.
I new produce for banks, radio stations, seminars, PSAs, events.
My favorite is the one for Mountain Valley Community Bank. I recorded the summer sounds of crickets and my porch swing creeking. The bank wanted to be known as a friendly bank that knows people by name. The characters were me, the grandma and my 8 year old son playing the grandson sitting on the swing in the evening enjoying time together. The grandson asks about what it was like in the old days. Grandma discribes how friendly it was and refers to the bank as similar where everyone knows you and appreciates you. It got and still gets rave reviews. A little bit of humor and a lot of bragging on the bank.
Another success was a Free Seminar offering free information for forclosure alternatives. It starts very deep, serious and scary. Then as the solution, the seminar, is described, things get positive with the free information to get them out of foreclosure.
Slow, deep and sexy describes the call letters of Brenau University's station. Articulate was very important when saying "Atlanta". Most want to say it"Atlanna".
Phone trees are interesting. Upbeat and calming is necessary to keep people waiting on hold. Some music is necessary, too.

My Training

I took a workshop in Atlanta about 10 years ago. Don't remember the name.
People always commented on my voice and requested that I do voiceover work for them.
I've been in music for about 25 years. I am a professional vocalist.
I produce my commercials as well.

My Studio Equipment

I use my computer and Sound Forge software.
