Native Spanish speaker with clear diction.
I am a Spanish native speaker and I can speak English and Spanish well. I do have a Spanish accent in English, but my enunciation in both languages is very clear. I also have an excellent diction in the Spanish language and a very clear pronunciation. I also have knowledge of German and I can produce casual conversations with a good pronunciation too. I'm a language teacher, so I use my voice on a regular basis to deliver formal presentations to my students. My voice can be very formal, assertive, and clear when delivering formal presentations. I also have a background in acting and I have performed roles in English and Spanish in the United States and Mexico. I have represented female characters mostly but a variety or roles such as children, adults, and elderly women therefore my voice has adapted to the different characters. I have done professional voice over for a software company in the United States. My voice was chosen because it was considered to be neutral as a Spanish speaker, clear, and very lively.

My Voice Experience
I'm a language teacher who delivers professional formal presentations on a regular basis. I have taught English and Spanish for about 16 years of my life in the United States and I have worked with different audiences including children, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens. I can tailor my lessons and adapt my voice to the different types of audiences I have to address. I also record material for my students on a regular basis so they can listen to recorded material in Spanish for additional listening and speaking practice. I worked for the company Computer Curriculum Corporation in Sunnyvale, California, recording material in Spanish required for a particular Spanish software they produced back in 1993. The company required a native Spanish speaker who could record material in Spanish with a lively, enthusiastic, and clear voice. I was a regular voice over artist and recorded for this company for about a year. I also did some voice coaching for the company Geonexus Communications in Palo Alto, California at about the same time. The company recorded a safety manual for Spanish speaking employees working at a company in the United States. My job was to coach the professional voice over actors who were hired for the project. In addition, I have training in acting both in Mexico and the United States. I have performed acting roles in Mexico and the United States in Spanish and English. Although most roles were female characters, the characters varied in age and personality. I also performed as a puppeter while working for a puppet theater company in Mexico City. I had to perform different characters for children. In addition, I'm a songwriter and although I don't use my voice to sing all my material, I have performed my own songs for a live audience in the United States.
I believe my background in acting and my experience as a language teacher have been excellent skills that have prepared me to acquire the jobs I have attained as a voice over professional. I graduated from CEDART Luis Spota Saavedra, an art school sponsored by Bellas Artes located in Mexico City. I studied different art areas for a period of four years but particularly focused on the drama field. I took many different art classes at the school, such as acting from introductory to advanced levels, voice and diction, music and choir, dance and corporal expression for the stage, and visual arts. I graduated with a diploma and teaching certificate in arts with drama emphasis. I was also a member of an independent theater company for a period of two years where we were trained in the areas of acting, directing, and play writing. In addition, I worked for a puppet theater company which presented shows for children in Mexico city and surrounding areas. I characterized different roles in different plays for children. In the United States, I took acting classes, music classes, and voice classes at the university level mostly for leisure, and I acted in some university plays. I became and educator and graduated from San Jose State University with a B.A. in linguistics, and a masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.) I also have a teaching credential in Spanish for the K-12 system. I took several foreign language classes while attending the university and can speak some German. I have taught English as a second language and Spanish classes to a diverse audience in the United States.
My Studio Equipment
As an educator, I'm familiar with Audacity, a simple software program that allows me to record information, edit, save projects, and post them on line for my students. I am able to undesrtand the functions of this software and I can record, edit, and manage simple recording activities done mostly by me and posted for an audience on a regular basis. I record mostly educational material for my students and I do my own recording and voice editing whenever necessary. I also work with professional musicians who have their own recording studios, and I have worked with them mostly to record my own musical material.
I'm also a songwriter and although I don't sing my own songs all the time, I have performed for a live audience before.
Because I'm an educator and have taught both English as a second language and Spanish, I can translate and edit written material such as scripts for companies that may request it for an additional fee.
