Warm, Genuine, Smooth, Storyteller, Character
I am grateful to possess a versatile voice. I am a voiceover ACTOR, not just a specialist. My extensive experience in stage acting translates well to the microphone. For work in Audiobooks, I can exude the wisdom of age and the impulsiveness of youth, in the same sentence. Characters are a specialty. I have the stamina and experience to provide high production quality to any audiobook project. For promos and commercials, I can be professional yet friendly, powerful yet welcoming, smooth yet influential. My versatility provides the ability to be sensual, comical, forthright, or the mom-next-door. As a storyteller, I can interpret text with nuance and personality, ultimately meeting any producer's goal of a satisfied client.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Accents and dialects: Cockney, Upper Class British, Liverpool, Irish, German, Mexican, Spanish, Italian, South African, Standard English, Texan English, Deep Southern English, New York, Boston, Canadian.
Characters: This is best described by a sampling of roles I have played on stage: Annie in "The Real Thing" by Stoppard (British-highclass romantic), Mona in "Come Back to the Five and Dime..." (Southern-tortured wacky), Frumasera in "Fiddler..." (Russian Jewish-old world soothsayer), Mama Wheelis in "Daddy's Dyin'..." (Southern-Crotchety Grandma), Mina in "Dracula" (British-ingenue victim), M'Lynn in "Steel Magnolias" (Southern-grieving Mom). More important than the geographic origin of a character, I can capture the emotion, the motivation, the backstory, and the empathy a character should exude.
My Voice Experience
Even though I began the entrance into the voiceover industry in 1998, I am happy to now be a full-time voiceover actor. My past professional experience includes voiceovers in training videos, website narration, audiobooks, and animation. I have voiced commercials for radio and television (Wittlebee, Skidders), website media narration (Home Helpers, Caring Transitions), audiobooks (Inside Teaching by Dr. Mary Kennedy, The Flat World and Education by Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond), and animation.
I have studied with Nancy Wolfson (commercials), Laurel van der Linde (commercials, audiobooks), Michael D. Cohen (animation and acting), Anna Garduno (commercials, animation, narration) David Nelson and Douglas Buckhout (acting) and Eliza Jane Schneider (accents). I attend two workouts, one weekly and one bi-weekly, with fellow voiceover professionals in the Los Angeles area. I have a Master of Arts degree in Education, with an emphasis in Counseling. This has provided me with the empathy and understanding of human psychology to tweak that extra edge of understanding of a character when performing, both on stage and in the recording booth. My undergraduate study includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Theatre Arts.
My Studio Equipment
Professional microphone(Sennheiser MK-4), Multimix 8 channel mixer/interface, Audacity software, Macbook Pro laptop, soundproof home booth.
In addition to my extensive performance experience, I have been an elementary teacher, middle school assistant principal, elementary school principal and district office administrator. I am a transplanted American and the great-granddaughter of native British citizens. I am native to Canada. I am the mother of three. Besides my penchant for stopping at any Staples store I pass and gathering all manner of post-it notes for purposes unknown to me, I'm a pretty normal person. I have the talent, drive, professionalism, versatility, humor and stamina that will positively contribute to any successful voiceover project.
