My Voice Experience
In 2011 I was in the middle of college really struggling to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. One night when hanging out with some friends they all started doing atrocious Christopher Walken impressions. They knew I wanted to be a voice actor so they nudged me to attempt it and I refused because I knew I couldn't(I had tried before.) After being poked a prodded, I still refused.
That night I went home and watched a video of a panel of some of the best voice actors in the business recite the script of Star Wars in random voices assigned to them. Christopher Walken ended up being given to many of them and I realized I had to learn it. So after trial and error for about 15 minutes in the shower the next day, I finally got it and did it for my friends and they said mine was the best.
From that point on I've heavily pursued voice acting. I tried out for a talent show doing impressions of Gollum, Optimus prime, Bane, and The Joker. All of the judges enjoyed my performance but I ended up not making the talent show. It ended up being singers and instrument players.
On top of the talent show, I audited a class at my college. Auditing is where you just watch the class and take notes and can't participate but I told the teacher that I needed this training, so she let me. I got no credit for the class and I'm now officially taking it this semester.
I've attended a workshop held by Jason Noxon of Voicecoaches.com. I ended up recording a mini demo at the end of the workshop which was then critiqued by a voice casting professional named Jenny Marcotte. She told me on the phone that I did a great job and she can see my voice in audio books and video games among other things.
I've also taken speech classes at the college, and an acting class. I was also an actor in a film that was entered into a contest called College Movie Festival. It was a nominee for best comedy.
I've also sent a voice sample to a company that deals in radio and also recorded a 5-6 minute piece for them for possible use.
Voice acting is my passion and strive for greatness.
I am a high school graduate from Duncan U. Fletcher High School. I'm currently enrolled in Florida State College of Jacksonville and am working on my AA. The only training I've had is from a teacher of a voice techniques class by the name of Bonnie Harrison.
My Studio Equipment
I own an AT2020 USB microphone along with a mic stand and cover.
I have the ability to beatbox and also sing.
