Joseph Walter

Deep, Friendly, Strong, Unique, Sexy, Masculine

Voice Description

My voice is:

Strong and commanding, offering a deep tone referred to by those around me as, "a great radio voice."

It offers a comforting country "twang" for those truck and equipment type commercials, and warmth and depth for narrations.

My voice has an edge which works great for sports video game or advertising, or slogan clips.

My voice is sexy while at the same time, unique; it imitates when required, or stands on its own equally well.

Small adjustments within any genre add unique subtleties for humor when appropriate.

My voice is a character of many faces.

Most importantly, with repeated work, my voice is distinguishable; it is a brand of sorts in the making. Have one conversation with me, and if I phone two years later, you are likely to immediately know with whom you are speaking!

My Voice Experience

In 1992 I began working on a project with the government studying the Books on Tape program. Prior to that, the idea of voice work had never crossed my mind.

Around that same time, I owned a recording studio, and in this phase of beginning government video projects for education I would provide music and audio as necessary to these videos. This was my first, and until recently, only foray into the voice over world.

After finally deciding in 2011 to revisit my passion of voice and audio work, I spent time rebuilding a studio, this time in my home, and working to earn a living as an audio mixing and mastering engineer--the bread and butter of my previous life--and with renewed focus on the voice over world.

In 2013 I completed my Commercial Demo, and am currently working on Narrative and Character ones. In September of 2014 I made my first contact and in a 60 day period performed 2 Liners for his radio program, and have done four ad spots for a Winston-Salem radio station's clients.

I am absolutely certain my voice is built for voice over work, and if you take a listen, I am sure you will agree. I can handle all production, editing, sound effects, music add-ins, etc. right from my pro-studio. Of course, if the voice is all one needs, that works quite nicely as well!
