My Voice Experience

My family will argue that I have been acting all of my life; especially, when it comes to voices. The first voices I ever remember copying or mimicking would have to be Disney's "Jungle Book". I would go from the raspy, fun, big bear Baloo to the stern, hard headed, more sophisticated Bagheera. Then I would switch from the smooth, dangerous, confident Shere Khan to the buzzards that were based off the Beatles even before I knew who the Beatles were. King Louie and Kaa kind of sounded the same to me. When I recognized they had different personalities, it was easy for my 7 year old brain to adapt.

I have used my talents for many years. Whether it's to entertain a group of people for 20 mins with a story from Eddie Izzard, or if you want me to sing with a southern accent on stage for musical theatre, it makes me happy to entertain and make people happy. From reciting movies while the volume is turned down to narrating books, and finding out voices I never knew I had, I enjoy it all! I have gained more voices over the years as well as held on to the ones I've done since the beginning.
All it takes is that one "yes" to make an amateur into a professional.

My Training

I have done live performances of Musical Theatre and straight Theatre in Nevada and Illinois for an extensive amount of years. I was awarded the Theatre Student of the Year Award in 2009. I am also nominated for a Forte Award coming in November, 2016.
Film (3 Tickets to Paradise) and TV (Idaho Boys) for a few years. Narrating audiobooks through ACX, and voicing commercials for American Express.
I have been attending online over workshops through Dave Fennoy and Dan Levine for over a year. I also have been mimicking voices all my life.

My Studio Equipment

I have the VO: 1-A Harlan Hogan Signature Series Microphone; Scarlett Solo 2nd Generation Audio Interface; Acer Laptop/Notebook w/Audacity and Reaper installed; and a walk in closet sound booth accessible to me at my convenience.

Additional Skills

Well, I've been drawing since I was able to pick up a crayon. I've been playing instruments since I was 12, which include the clarinet and penny whistle. I started my stage career at 16 when I learned how to sing (discovered I had a voice), dance and act all in the same year with "The Music Man." At 18 I taught myself how to juggle. Went to college for Theatre and studied the many sides of acting for many, many years, and here I am now doing my best to use my talents to make a career for myself. The rest, as they say, is history.
