Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I have a natural subtle lisp that comes out every now and then. its more memorable than annoying. I have a very goofy personality and as such, I come up with very crazy voices. mostly to play with my 2 year old daughter, but I suppose I could put them to work as well if needed.
mostly I have a very deep and natural tone, especially if its early in the morning. as the day progresses I tend to speak in a higher tone simply because people can relate to it better. I have been a singer for the past 12 years as well and I've grown acustom to singing in a higher tone and more of a peppy attitude.
My Voice Experience
the only professional thing I've done in the past is Music and melodies. I did get a call back from Funimation Studios for a voiceover job as an anime character for a cartoon series, but I got beat out by the other candidate.
I'll be honest when saying that this is still a new experience for me. But, I feel this can be a positive thing as I'm very moldable to new situations.
I have been a live musician for the past 12 years and a professional Disk Jockey and Master of Ceremonies (DJ/MC) for the last 2 years. In such a field it is very important to have a clear and demanding voice that people will want to listen to. I have performed in over 300 shows with bands and over 250 in my more serious DJ/MC career. of those I've received countless 100% positive feedback. granted, those arnt exactly voice over jobs, but still center around using my voice and personality to perform the tasks.
My Studio Equipment
I own a 17 inch Macbook Pro as well as a 27 inch iMac both with professional recording applications such as Garageband and Ableton. I have an external input recording interface which is a Lexicon usb hub with drivers to connect any variation of microphone through XLR or 1/4 cables. I have a Shure 57 vocal mic as well as the built in microphones on both of my macs which are surprisingly effective in their uses.
I worked as an audio engineer at a local music venue mixing live sound for 7 months, as well as recorded a few podcasts where I did the full production including sound fx and backing music.
