My Voice Experience

Well, I began my voice over journey a few years ago and it has been something that I naturally took to right away. On a whim I signed up for a voice over work shop at a local studio in Sacramento, Ca. I loved it and I kept going back. I haven't stopped since. In terms of work, I have done a commercial for a local talent management firm, I've been active in assisting with coaching for voice over workshops, I've just done a commercial for a haunted house in Utah, and currently, I am auditioning and just trying to get that next gig to build my chops and take my career to the next level.

My Training

My experience begins in rock & roll. I have been in a hard rock band for the past 8 years and so I have that background of recording vocals in the studio. There was this coffee shop that was on the way to our band's rehearsal studio that I would stop at before practice and it was there that I read this flier for a voice over workshop. It intrigued me so I called and registered. I've been involved ever since. At that first voice over workshop I attended I discovered that a lot of the other students were also actors and so I found a local acting studio in town and began acting classes as well. These two crafts go hand in hand and I have been immersed in both since I began this journey. Other than that I do have a formal education. I went to junior college at Yuba College in Marysville, Ca. and then transferred to CSU Sacramento where I majored in Graphic Design. I went up until my Senior year and decided to take time off due to some personal events in my life and I have yet to return.

My Studio Equipment

I have an MXL V87 microphone right now and I am running Audacity on a Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard. This is here in my house but, I also record at a professional studio with Pro Tools.
